Who is in your head?

You are not alone. There are millions of people in your head.
You have a mind, but it is not your own. Your mind is a huge library of passed-down information, belief systems, physical, mental, and emotional and energetic impressions gathered from real people, books, telly, films, the grapevine, the ether, and the very air you breathe. Mind is a continuation of the experiences and collective memory of the society you were born in/live in. The mind you call your own is a collective mind, handed down to you by others. It is ancestral and social in nature. The mind is full of second-hand content. It is not your mind. There is nothing original about it, either.
The Mind is a sophisticated and incessant storyteller
The mind is your slippery friend, undergoing an identity crisis. It lives through you by creating ''me'' out of its never-ending dialogue. How does it do that?
Your mind, the master storyteller, tells stories blending thoughts, memories, feelings and associates them with a fabricated notion of 'me'. This clever placement of 'me' at the center of the narrative creates an illusion that your mind's narratives are your own. And also that a separate ''me'' is a reality.
The mind's gibberish becomes your own. Endless, repetitive thoughts create your living experience. When the mind tells you something, you feel as if a separate ''me'' is listening. Then another thought answers the first thought. The illusion of an Inner dialogue is firmly established. And the whole life is expressed through this illusion. (In India, it's called Maya, the great illusion)
The mind's gibberish feels as though it's your own. Endless and repetitive thoughts keep creating your living experience. Your mind analyses your life, tells you you are miserable, you need to find peace, does the spiritual journey, and tells you you are already there. Your inner chatter feels like a dialogue. My mind tells me this and that. There is no one in there, other than the mind. It's going round and round in circles. Questioning and answering on. A monologue of a madman, leading you to feel as if it is a dialogue.
You are in the vehicle, but you are not the driver. The driver is not interested in you, only the false centre it has given you, so that it can ramble on, uninterrupted. The driver does not bother to ask where you need to go. You are loyal to your thoughts, but those thoughts have no obligation to be loyal to you. You are going where it takes you.
Vedas- Reality is a projection of your mind.
Mind also, does your spiritual seeking
Your mind creates a spiritual narrative. The AI illustrate how the mind is apt at putting together various pieces of information and presents it to you as though it knows.
Your mind is a lot more capable of creating compelling stories and narratives than the AI. Fake has a deep desire to seem real. The very dynamic of mind-based reality creates so much fakery in this world. Fake wants to be real. Mind is a cobbled-together mechanism, and is dying to be real. Isn't that what we see all around us? All the time, your mind can keep the illusion of being real, you will stay fake. This is an existential truth. When the fake departs, nobody needs to reveal the truth. Truth is the abiding presence. It does not need to be dug out. The unreal veils it with a lot of noise.
Your mind puts you on a spiritual journey. It takes control of every detail on that journey. It tells you that you are sincere, you have peace, and you are ready to mentor others. Your mind can never put you on a real seeking, for a real spiritual path will investigate the very nature of the mind. Upon investigation, the structure of the mind starts to fall apart. The separate ''me'' comes undone too. The mind is your slippery friend, undergoing an identity crisis. It lives through you by creating ''me'' out of its never-ending dialogue.
Mind can never put you on a spiritual path
It can only inspire a spirituality in the headspace. The mind can never yearn for Self, for that will cause the end of the game for the mind, the false centre with it. The yearning must arise within your true centre. Then it is going to get done
The endless inner dialogue does not leave a gap for you to figure out that it's not a dialogue at all. Who is talking to whom?
What is behind all the noise? The moment you twig that it's a monologue, you stand free. That's the entire gist of your spiritual awakening.
In light of the above, perhaps it's a little easier to appreciate that spiritual seeking can never be a fad; it's only fruitful when it arises within the very fibre of your being. Because the mind can be and happens to be in charge of spiritual seeking, just because the mind likes the idea, or it feels that spiritual knowledge will make it look better, wiser, enlightened...
Purified Seeking
We have a mind-based spiritual climate. The mind makes people feel very drawn to spirituality. I insist on the purification of seeking, rather than spiritual growth or enlightenment. Maybe my task is to purify mind-based, other-based seeking. Purified seeking is synonymous with finding. When your mind assumes its rightful place in the scheme of things, life does not need any spiritual work. Only purified seeking can settle you down, so you can investigate, not just the contents of mind, but the very nature of mind.
Self is closer than your breath, and only requires a sincere heart
